The smarter E Europe, June 23–25, 2026, Munich

Europe’s transition toward a cleaner and more resilient energy system will take center stage this summer as The smarter E Europe returns to Munich from June 23–25, 2026. Widely recognized as Europe’s largest alliance of exhibitions for the energy industry, the event is expected to welcome more than 2,800 exhibitors and over 100,000 visitors from around the world.
Against a backdrop of renewed geopolitical uncertainty and persistent concerns over fossil fuel dependence, the exhibition will focus on practical pathways to a renewable-powered future. A major highlight will be the Special Exhibit Renewables 24/7, designed to demonstrate how round-the-clock electricity supply based on renewable sources can be achieved using technologies already available today.
Visitors will be able to explore four themed areas covering industry, commerce, residential applications, and mobility. Each section will showcase how power generation, storage, flexibilization, and digitalization can work together to balance variable solar and wind output while maintaining supply security. It’s a timely concept, honestly, because this is where the real debate has moved now—not whether renewables work, but how to scale them intelligently.
To open the exhibition on June 23, organizers will present an exclusive study developed in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems. Titled Pathways to a Renewable Energy Supply, the research challenges common assumptions about grid instability and aims to provide scientific evidence that a fully renewable system is technically viable. Using Germany as a case study, where around 60 percent of electricity already comes from renewable sources, the study examines how industrial economies can maintain reliable supply while accelerating decarbonization.
The event will also emphasize electrification as the central engine of future growth, spanning transport, heating, and industrial processes. Organizers argue that replacing imported oil and gas with domestic renewable generation can strengthen competitiveness, lower long-term energy costs, and increase economic value creation across Europe.
The smarter E Europe brings together four major co-located exhibitions: Intersolar Europe, ees Europe, Power2Drive Europe, and EM-Power Europe. Hosted at Messe München, the three-day gathering is set to be one of the most significant energy sector events of 2026, with live demonstrations, expert panels, and industry discussions shaping the next chapter of Europe’s energy transformation.
